My Story

I grew up in Belgium surrounded by Natural Medicine. My father was a Chiropractor, Oriental Medical Doctor, and Physical Therapist who integrated Functional Medicine with a variety of innovative modalities. Long before these approaches became mainstream, he incorporated Laser Therapy, Ear Acupuncture, Applied Kinesiology, and Homeopathy into his practice. His patients ranged from individuals with complex health conditions to world-class athletes. At home, I was raised with nutrient-dense local foods, along with daily vitamins, herbs, and homeopathic remedies.

As a child, I struggled with asthma, allergies, and eczema. I was treated by a Medical Doctor specializing in Classical Homeopathy—a therapy that profoundly improved my health. This experience not only transformed my wellbeing, but ultimately shaped the direction of my life and my career in medicine.

After completing my Pre-Medical Studies at Richmond College in London, I moved to the United States to attend the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago. I quickly realized how much there was to learn within the field and embraced every opportunity for advanced study. I trained extensively in Applied Kinesiology (A.K.) with Dr. Wally Smith, D.C., and George Goodheart, D.C., the founder of A.K. I explored Magnet Therapy through the work of Dr. Earl Colum, D.C., and refined my skills in Clinical Kinesiology with Dr. Craig Hilgendorf, D.C.

My studies continued with Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D., in Autonomic Response Testing, and Dr. Thomas Rau, M.D., one of the world’s most respected physicians in biological medicine.

Homeopathy

My passion for Classical Homeopathy deepened when I discovered a homeopathic pharmacy that preserved original books and remedies from the era of Dr. James Tyler Kent—renowned for teaching Materia Medica at major homeopathic institutions from the late 1800s into the early 1900s. I immersed myself in these texts, studying every volume I could find.

My formal training began with André Saine, N.D., D.C., and Francisco Xavier Eizayaga, M.D. Later, on the West Coast, I was fortunate to learn from some of the greatest homeopathic masters of our time, including Ananda Zaren, Roger Morrison, M.D., Nancy Herrick, Jan Scholten, M.D., Massimo Mangialavori, M.D., Rajan Sankaran, Lou Klein, and Michal Yakir.

Naturopathic Medicine

A few years into my clinical practice, I returned to school to expand my training in natural therapeutics. The National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon—home to the largest homeopathic library in the country—was the ideal place to deepen my knowledge. I completed my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine to better serve patients with comprehensive and integrative care. I advanced my naturopathic education over the years to include IV Therapies, Dark Field Microscopy and European Thermography.

Functional Medicine

I began studying Functional Medicine with Jeffrey Bland in 1991, at the very inception of the field. Functional Medicine brought together the biochemistry I had learned in school and translated it into powerful, individualized strategies for patient care. It expanded my understanding of how nutrition, supplementation, and botanical extracts can influence cellular function and even modulate genetic expression.
